Social Media

It is very important to realize that Social Media are destined to be shared. In fact, as we can see in the above diagram, the social media have many names - all of them related to the concept of "common", "ours", "users". It is easy to use social media, easy to comment on them, share them, sent them etc.
Social Media in opposite to Media in general is constantly changing. It is fixed. In terms of tourism industry, this factor is very important, as tourism is always changing too. Nowaydays, we have the new kind of tourist, who is much more curious, avoid "typical" tourism activities, has got the knowladge of the new media avaiable and makes use of them while deciding on the holiday destination. Social media are created for people by people. Therefore, the information can be quickly shared, published, commented on. One of the perfect examples of using this networks is the very famous website used for booking hotels: Not only can we quaickly and with no stress book the hotel, flight and car, we also can share our opinions, rate the destinations and hotels, and comment on our decisions. The hotels are no the ones who decide how many stars they have...the tourists by online rating and voting are evaluating the destination itself. Surprisingly enough, the number of reclamations and complains diminished, because the honests opinion of people who had been there before are available for anyone.
